project Color research

As an artist deeply engaged with the exploration of color, my research extends across various materials, each offering a unique canvas that influences and interacts with color in distinct ways. In my latest project, I delve into textiles, leather, and string, materials chosen for their diverse textures and inherent qualities that challenge and enrich my understanding of color application and perception.

Textiles serve as a soft, versatile foundation where dyes and paints absorb or reflect light variably, creating a dynamic play of shades and tones. The fluidity of textiles allows for experiments in gradation and blending, making it an ideal medium for nuanced color transitions.

Leather, with its smooth, durable surface, presents an entirely different interaction with color. Its resistance to certain dyes and treatments adds complexity to my work, compelling me to consider the chemistry of coloration deeply. The way pigments age and patina over time on leather adds a temporal dimension to my color studies, illustrating the evolving beauty of color through natural change.

Together, these materials guide my artistic journey through the realm of color, pushing the boundaries of traditional color theory and inviting viewers to experience color as a dynamic and transformative force.
